AccessPro Compliance Mission Statement

• Standards & Legal Framework: We strive to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA and consider obligations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and California’s Unruh Civil Rights Act.

• Accessible Design & Code: We use semantic HTML, meaningful ARIA where appropriate, and clear structure to support assistive technologies.

• Keyboard Operability: Pages are designed to be navigable by keyboard, with visible focus and logical tab order.

• User Preferences: Visitors can personalize the interface (e.g., contrast, text size, reduced motion) to enhance readability and comfort.

• Testing & Remediation: We conduct periodic automated scans and manual reviews and work to remediate barriers we identify.

• AI-Assisted Tools (Supplemental): We use AI-based accessibility features to help maintain usability during updates. These tools supplement—but do not replace—code-level accessibility and manual testing.

• Third-Party Content: Some third-party features or content may present challenges. We collaborate with partners to improve accessibility where feasible.

Optimized Screen Reader and Keyboard Navigation

• Screen-Reader Support: Landmarks, headings, labels, and ARIA attributes communicate structure and intent.

• Image Descriptions: Informative images include alt text; decorative images are marked appropriately.

• Text from Images: Where feasible, OCR or alternative text is provided to convey essential information.

• Keyboard Navigation: Interactive elements are operable without a mouse.

• Skip Links: Content-skip menus enable quick access to main sections.

• Popup/Modal Handling: Modals manage focus, are announced where appropriate, and are dismissible.

• Shortcuts: Where supported, shortcuts provide quicker access to key elements.

Specialized Profiles for Disabilities

• Epilepsy-Safe: Reduced motion and flashing to minimize potential triggers.

• Vision Support: Enhanced contrast and text options for visual impairments.

• Cognitive Support: Simplified layouts and assistive features to aid understanding.

• ADHD-Friendly: Options to reduce distractions and support focus.

• Blind Users: Compatibility with popular screen readers.

• Keyboard-Only: Full site operation via keyboard commands.

Customizable User Interface Adjustments

• Font Adjustments: Control size, spacing, and line height for readability.

• Color/Contrast: Choose contrast profiles and color schemes.

• Animations: Disable or reduce animations for comfort and safety.

• Content Highlighting: Emphasize links, headings, and focused elements.

• Audio Muting: Instantly mute site audio.

• Cognitive Aids: Optional helpers and linked resources to support comprehension.

• Additional Functions: Other adjustments as available.

Browser and Assistive Technology Support

• Supported Browsers: Current versions of Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, Opera, and Microsoft Edge.

• Supported Screen Readers: JAWS and NVDA (Windows). Other assistive technologies (e.g., VoiceOver) may also work.
